Thames Lido

Thames Lido is the result of a painstaking and sensitive 3-year restoration of the disused King’s Meadow swimming pool located by the river Thames on King’s Meadow in Reading, Berkshire.

In October 2017 we reopened the pool to the people of Reading and beyond. We are very proud to be part of this building’s history and we look forward to welcoming you through our doors.

From breakfast to the restaurant menu, Lido food is strongly influenced by the seasons and the freshest produce available. Our chefs focus on sourcing the best ingredients through their close relations with local suppliers, farmers and fishermen from the West and South Coast. Using simple cooking methods including the chargrill and clay oven, the dishes are full of colour, flavour and freshness. Our menus are created with balance and variety, a treat for all and suitable for everyday dining, celebrations or just taking time out.

As well as the poolside bar and restaurant, the Lido has a private events room which can host a number of events including meetings, birthday celebrations and lots more.

Located on the first floor, our events space has plenty of natural daylight with one side fully glazed with doors opening onto a balcony. It can accommodate up to 70 people for a standing event or 56 people seated.

Christmas is celebrated at the Lido with lights, trees and a fabulous Christmas menu. Everything is put in place to ensure all have the best time with quality locally sourced food and extensive wine menu.
